At Bluwater Crossing, sustainability is built right in.
We began with the site itself. Our beachside locale was chosen for more than aesthetics. The building is sited to maximize the coolness provided by prevailing ocean winds, so residents save on the utility consumption of air conditioning. To further this, we’ve installed roll-up doors on the ground level of the lofts and energy-smart hydronic heating and cooling systems.
There are more green considerations, from the outside in. We use only reclaimed water for landscaping purposes, and we’ve implemented a unique jardinière reservoir system to eliminate water waste. The exterior siding has been designated a “green” material, and we’ve chosen manufacturers of cabinetry, carpets and flooring based on their commitment to planet-friendly practices.
We’ve attempted to implement green into nearly every detail. Even the decorative glass that festoons the community water feature has been recycled. But there’s also the big picture – with no commute, you drastically reduce greenhouse emissions. And use of mass transit like the nearby Coaster further reduces your carbon footprint. The fact that we’re a mixed-use community means that you can find everything you need within walking distance of your home. We’ve even integrated multiple bike racks into the exterior landscape design.
No commute. A walkable community. Nearby mass transit. The next time you misplace your car keys, you may not even bother trying to find them.
